    shared by gauthierdumonde on 2013-02-12

My Horizon Kompakt was on display in a secondhand store for more than 6 months. I got it back because it can easily do doubles and my 202 can't. It jammed after 10 shots. The roll would not advance anymore.

  • Panorama EBS at Stonehenge #4

    shared by buckshot on 2013-02-02

I woke really early and drove 100km to be at the ancient, mystical ruins of Stonehenge by sunrise. It was a frigid morning (3°C) with a bitter wind, but at least it was clear, with plenty of sunshine. I approached the 'exposing both sides' (EBS) technique the same way as described in my first panorama EBS album here: http://goo.gl/ChwbE The only difference was that I had a changing bag with me this time, so I could flip the film onsite from the redscale side (which I shot first) back to the normal side. I froze my ass off out there, but I think it was worth it for these results. Hope you like 'em too...! :-)

First roll with the Pentax ME Super + Pentax SMC 50mm f1.7 prime lens I bought in a charity store for £29. It's actually pretty ridiculous that you can buy a camera this good for such an insanely low price, but hey - I ain't complaining...! ;-)

  • Vaseline on filter

    shared by buckshot on 2013-04-20

I read about this effect many years ago, but never actually tried it until today: smear Vaseline (petroleum jelly) around the outside of a skylight filter on the front of your lens, leaving a clear circle in the middle, to get a sharp centre and soft-focus outer edge to your shots. I used a 28-210mm Vivitar zoom lens on my Nikon body, and prefer how the effect works on the wider shots than the zoomed-in ones... although I'm pretty happy with them all, actually :-)

  • My first infrared...kind of.

    shared by badjuju on 2013-08-29

I bought the wrong filter, thinking I could get strong results with a deep red filter. So this is my first try, not too bad considering it was not a true IR filter.

Why I bought this umpteenth point & shot? only for its lens that has the same focal length of the LCA, 32mm! The Canon Sure Shot Sleek Specifications: The 32mm f/3.5 lens has 3 elements in 3 groups 3-point intelligent autofocus, as close as 45cm, with pre-focus. Auto-exposure with shutter speeds ranging from 2s-1/250s. EV range of 3-17. Multiple flash modes, inc. red-eye reduction, suppressed and slow-synch. Autoloading, DX decoding, advancing, and rewinding of 35mm film. Power: 3V CR-123A lithium battery. Dimensions and weight: 120x62x41 mm, just 185g with battery. From my first experience I like it more in low light than under the sun light.
