Gorgeous view
shared by natalieerachel on 2011-12-06Went on a hike with my dad, and changed our course three times. Finally, we decided to hike partway up the back of Koko Head. I forgot how wide the Fisheye lens actually was and over compensated for a lot of shots. It was a cloudy morning so the pictures aren't very happy looking. But I still had a great time!

Time for a break.
shared by brooks on 2011-09-24When you work the whole day long you need at least one break to chill and relax a little bit. My luck is that I only need 5 minutes by car to the raab (a quite nice river) where there is just nature and silence. And if the sun is shining too it's even better!

Tiga Mojang "the rest of the pile" 🗿🗿🗿
shared by hervinsyah on 2011-10-24This is "the rest of the pile" sculpture of Indonesian famous sculpture artist, Nyoman Nuarta, which named Tiga (tiga (Indonesia) = three (English) ; Mojang (Sundanese word for GIRL). Tiga Mojang was build at one of real estate in Bekasi, Jawa Barat (West Java), Indonesia https://www.google.co.id/search?q=patung+tiga+mojang&biw=1024&bih=489&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&sqi=2&ved=0ahUKEwjjw5GcppnMAhWIGJQKHa1DAZ8Q_AUIBigB But protested by local organization who thought that the sculpture is too vulgar/porn and also not suitable with local culture, because they think Bekasi which part of West Java, the province which dominated by Sundanese, is not belong to Sundanese tradition but more close with Betawinese culture. So they broke the sculpture and there's nothing policeman can do. Nyoman Nuarta, Balinese who also made some famous sculpture such as Garuda Wisnu Kencana in his hometown in Bali, removed his rest of the pile Tiga Mojang sculpture to his almamater, ITB (Institut Teknologi Bandung or Bandung Institute of Technology) when they held Pasar Seni (Art Market) 10.10.10 or October 10th, 2010. My personal opinion, this is his genius protest to so called "defender of the universe gank" who use violence, without using violence back.

in the Pere Lachaise cemetary
shared by elvismartinezsmith on 2010-11-07I like to go and hang around in the Pere Lachaise cemetary. If you go a bit deeper between the graves you may find really calm areas. Just sit on a grave and enjoy the solitude, it's so rare in Paris!

shared by janette on 2008-12-26The first official carnival was held in Ryde in 1888, but this followed on from a parade the previous year to celebrate Queen Victoria's Jubilee, an event which the Queen attended. It is said that Ryde has the longest tradition of Town Carnivals in the UK. It's a good event, with some fantastic costumes and floats.

MX of Dutch Square Clocktower and Flowerbed.
shared by dabai on 2011-01-12Took this MX shot at Dutch Square at Malacca, Malaysia. There were colorful flowerbeds around this Clocktower at the Dutch Square and I thought both would look nice in the same shot.
