after some days of drama with some friends in berlin, me and Isabel decided to leave the city for a few days in order to clear up our minds (and souls) by enjoying the breathtaking and unique shores of the ostsee. as soon as we got there it was pouring and so we were somehow forced to visit the only indoor place in the area: a butterfly farm, which turned out to be pretty cool in the end. luckily for us the day after proved to be totally sunny and, as far as it's possible for this place, warm. we found ourselves enjoying simple things like feeling the sun on our skin and the wind blowing through our hair and eventually we managed to keep the drama away for the whole day.

Marta and Adele (aka Fusillini sisters) have been friends of mine for quite a long time and we spent some pretty crazy times together. I love taking pictures of them because even if their approach to the camera is totally different (Adele is really confident, Marta is rather shy and insecure) they are both really good at following instructions and I'm always satisfied with the outcome. Berlin, as usual, offered some perfect backgrounds to our photoshooting: the charming charlottenburg castle garden, the spooky and huge abandoned chemical factory in Rudersdorf and the never disappointing Mauerpark. http://andrejrusskovskij.com/?p=531

This year I was really anticipating for spring, which actually is my favourite season. Sadly enough there were too few chances to enjoy it in the way I would have loved to because the weather in Berlin was still rainy and pretty much cold. Still me and Isabel managed to spend a nice day with our friends at the Zoologischer Garten and to be suprinsingly impressed by the beautiful blossoming Botanischer Garten and the old-fashioned beach of Wannsee. http://andrejrusskovskij.com/?p=491

...and it turned out way too dark. The first three shots I really like, the rest I just uploaded to show you that this film seems to need a lot of light. It was really sunny and the shots are exposed at 200 iso, so, you can imagine what would've happened if I shot them at 400 iso. Nevertheless, I love the colors and I'm sure, I will have a lot of fun as soon as I will have the right feeling :)!

  • Yes, the West is still alive

    shared by kibs on 2013-06-09

On a very cloudy last day of May I took my Lubi to Cowtown to capture some of the old west. A visit to the Fort Worth Stockyards is like stepping back more than 100 years in time . . . well, except for the cars and modern conveniences like air conditioning. There are saloons, haberdasheries, cowboy boot and western wear stores, a steam passenger train and street performers. There's live bull riding (poor bulls!), stables, Billy Bob's arena and bar, and the Stockyards Hotel that has housed guests for over 100 years. I shot this redscale 50-200 at 25 to get more yellow. Hope you enjoy! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fort_Worth_Stockyards

Ok I have to admit it: apart from knowing that Budapest was the set of Katy Perry's "Firework" video, I didn't know much regarding the city. Matter of fact is that I will have plenty of occasions to learn something more because Isabel is now living there ;) While I was there the autumn colours were at their best. Of course I took advantage of it and I used the city as the set of some photoshooting sessions. Here you will find Isabel and her cousin Katharina. http://andrejrusskovskij.com/?p=940

Valeria and Clarissa have always been like dynamite. but when they came visiting me and Isabel, I was far from knowing that Berlin would have set them on fire... Together we spent three amazingly explosive and crazy days. From almost sinking our boat in the Tiergarten lake, to dying of fear because of the paranormal activity in the abandoned sanatorium/war hospital Beelitz Heilstaetten. Welcome to our merry-go-round, people! http://andrejrusskovskij.com/?p=512

    shared by andrejrusskovskij on 2013-07-22

in the last three days of my eight months spent in Berlin, my mother and my brother came visiting me and helped me packing all the stuff I collected. I decided to take them to Teufelsberg (the devil's mountain) which I only saw once in January during a foggy cold day. This time the weather was perfect and taking pictures turned out to be way easier. To my surprise my family was totally overwhelmed with this experience. http://andrejrusskovskij.com/?p=591

as soon as I came back home in late June I wanted to enjoy the things I missed the most while I was in Berlin: spending time with my dog (Gwen) and mountain hiking with my friends. Funny how I felt uncomfortable and awkward in the moment I had to shoot something totally different from urban berlin! http://andrejrusskovskij.com/?p=602
