Please tell us something about yourself and what you do.

I’m a high school student and actor. I enjoy taking pictures on the side, and I always have my camera on me, which is why you see lots of shots from a school setting or rehearsal setting.

How did you find the Community and who/what convinced you to join?

I was actually at the Getty Museum in Los Angeles and saw a Lomography camera in the photography section and looked up what it was and fell in love. I bought my first Lomography camera that day.

As you have read the 10 Golden Rules of Lomography, what rule do you apply in your everyday life?

I never leave home without a camera, I take my camera everywhere I go. Sometimes I take photos without looking through the viewfinder at all for a more surprising and fun shot. I try to never think about how much film I have left, I just shoot until I realize I'm out!!

In this digital age, why still film?

Personally I love the process of film, it's much more satisfying in the end. I also feel that it helps me a lot because when I can immediately see a photo I’m never satisfied and always want to change it. When I get film developed I feel more satisfied and happy with the photos. I also love the versatility of film, I can do things on film that I could never do on digital.

What's your favorite analogue camera at the moment?

I’m super into the Lomography Diana Mini Pinhole Operator, it’s so much fun! It’s great to just play around with but can also yield some pretty amazing pinhole shots when used with a tripod. And the color gels add another level of amazing things you can do with it.

What is the Lomographic camera you’d want to have someday?

Yes most definitely, I really want to get my hands on a Lomo LC-A+ one day. That camera is for sure very high up on my list.

Any song, book, or movie you live by?

I’m always obsessed with Pulp Fiction and could probably recite the whole thing. I also love The Craft. A lot.

Share your current favorite Lomograph, could be yours or a friend’s. Why is this your favorite?

I’m absolutely obsessed with this photo as well as this whole album, these photos makes me feel really nostalgic in the best way.

Any Community member you look up to? If so, why him or her?

I’m really into @5thdimension. I love her photos and love what she does with colors. If I had to choose someone I looked up to, it would for sure be her.

What are you looking forward to in our Community?

I’m honestly just looking forward to taking more pictures and sharing them! And maybe getting more of a following and getting more cameras to be able to vary my work more.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us Jonathan! Welcome to the Community and we're looking forward to seeing more of your work!
