3 15 Share TweetA great portrait celebrates the subject's mood, beauty, and emotions. For a portrait to be effective, it helps to collaborate with a model who understands your vision. It also pays to master lighting techniques and to experiment with your gear, including your choice of films. Clean tones, muted colors, and inky shadows are some of the recurring elements in these photos. And while the lovely muses appear to be nonchalant in their expressions, they pair well with the solemn, laid-back aesthetic of these shots, some of which were taken with the LomoChrome Metropolis.
Film can dramatically enhance or alter the overall feel of a photograph. Imagine if these were taken in grainy black & white or vibrant color negative—without a doubt, the images will still turn out splendidly. Most likely, we will be interpreting the mood differently!
