Hello Natalie, welcome to the Lomography Magazine, please tell us a bit about yourself.

Hello, thank you for having me. I am a photographer and filmmaker based in the South East of England, I work for a camera company and I’m a lover of vintage furniture and clothes.

How would you describe your photography style and where do you get this inspiration from?

I personally find it quite hard to pin down my photography style but I would say dreamy, ethereal, with a touch of darkness. I’m inspired a lot by films, music, artists but also by people in general, I love photographing portraits the most.

You shoot quite a lot with the Daguerreotype lens. How did you discover this lens?

I do! And I absolutely love it to pieces. I first saw it on Kickstarter and instantly fell in love. It took me a few years before I actually purchased one, but since it arrived it’s been a staple of my kit I could not imagine shooting without it. Even if I try to use something different it always finds its way onto my camera.

What do you like about the lens? What do you achieve from shooting with this?

When using this lens I feel more that I’m creating an artistic piece than taking a photo, I love the range the aperture blade filters give me to create sharpness with dreamy backgrounds or fully embrace the ethereal softness that I would not usually be able to achieve with a digital lens.

Any tips for anyone wanting to test this lens out?

This lens works for all occasions. I have shot live gigs as well as portraits and I’ve always found the results to be lovely. Also since this is a manual focus lens, take your time creating beautiful dreamy shots and don’t be afraid to experiment.

What's coming up in 2022 for you?

I have a few projects coming up soon! But I also just can’t wait to get out shooting more.
