This is a very interesting album, filled with mystery. It reminds me of a Maigret novel.

@sandersoftheriver Thank you! I haven't read any of the Maigret novels (the only Simenon I've read was "Dimanche" and I liked it ok, but not enough to rush out and read more). But I love classic noir so I should probably check them out and I'm flattered by the comparison.

I read a load for the first time about 18 months ago. They're all very short so no time wasted if you read one and find you don't like it :) I don't know if his style carries across to his other novels but I quite like it in the Maigret series - he has a Dickensian ability to create plausible characters of surprising depth using a swift, broad brush (to mix methods) technique. And of course there's Maigret himself, filled with weary sympathy for the misfortune, fallibility, ignorance, vanity, self-delusion, pain..... of all those he comes into contact with, all the while (perhaps because?) downing heroic quantities of cognac, beer, wine, plum brandy and anything else that comes to hand, often before breakfast, and tamping down his pipe with a thumb the size of a sausage. He's a mythical character of genius - I defy anyone not to warm to Maigret!

Sounds amazing. I'm adding some of these to my reading list right now.
