Street Mehndi Artist

A street Mehndi artist in the South Indian city of Chennai (Madras). Mehndi or Maruthani is an ancient form of body art still very popular in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Maldives and Bali. Mehndi paste that is used in the decoration is derived from leaves of the henna plant and the application is practiced by both men and women on special occasions like weddings, festivals, and classical dance performances.
