Memories of the Chatham Bagel Place
Before the pandemic, when Cape Cod was fun, and the Bagel Place had a bunch of cute college girls working there and I used to kill time there between tides and Anna had a school girl crush on me and thought I'd come back every day to see her and punch enough holes in my card to get a free coffee reward. This isn't a picture of Anna - she went back to study psych at Dartmouth and I never saw her again. Her sister worked there too, but her name wasn't Elsa.
Thanks again for appreciating this! This place on Cape Cod actually imported its bagels (in frozen form) from the same place my dad used to go to and buy hot fresh ones on Sunday mornings in New York. I flipped when the owner told me this! Sadly it has now changed hands, another victim of the pandemic, and has been remodeled and I dont know where they get their bagels from. But to a New Yorker, hot fresh bagels are akin to a religious experience and they can be very picky about it.
