Around Portland in autumn of 2021 (early autumn, late autumn?). I shot these with a Lomo LC-A+ and Kodak Pro Image 100 film.

Oh cool – the legendary Powell's! I ordered my Maizenberg manual from them.

@mcgloin If your local bookshop is any indication – and it often is – not a bad place to live in. (Oh, and I forgot to comment on the photo itself: great atmosphere, very cinematic!)

@anttihoo Portland has many independent bookshops, some large, some small, some cater. There are also many record stores, many bike shops (one specifically for fixed gear/track bikes, a few for cargo bikes, some that lean toward bikepacking or bike touring, etc) and being Lomography, I have to mention all of the photo labs and camera stores. I dropped off a Nikon FM3A for repair at one shop and in a few days I'll go to one of the local photo labs to develop a pile of film that I'll scan at home. Another lab is less of a pain about developing and scanning B&W film, so I'll go there with that.

@mcgloin TYPO! I meant some bookshops cater to specific interests while others are more general like philosophy and classical literature. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a bookshop devoted to cats.

@mcgloin Heh! Yeah, your city has a bit of a reputation for all things cool and interesting... probably even cat bookshops. Helsinki is tiny compared to Portland, but we have a reasonably vibrant bike scene – I managed to find a replacement crank axle for a Fifties road racer in under an hour last summer – and you can always find vintage cameras if you know where to look (you might have heard about camerarescue.org, one of our actual national treasures). I wish I could say the same about record stores, bookshops and film labs, though... Still there, but only just, and many have disappeared or moved online.
