I have lately been looking into old camcorders. Here is screen grab from from a Panasonic SD9, from 2008. Its one of their first consumer HD camcorders, but the resolution is bad and the image is soft, nothing like what you get even from a smartphone today. However, the colours look interesting, being more saturated and sharper, and less realistic, than current digital images. Presumably, this is due to differences in sensor technology. Videocameras at that time used a #3ccd sensor system, which split the image beam into separate red, green and blue channels, to three different sensors.
