Lomopedia: Lomography X-Pro Chrome
2 9 Share TweetIntroduced in 2010 and discontinued in 2012, the Lomography X-Pro Chrome slide film made quite a splash in the community and is no doubt missed by a lot of Lomographers even now. Today we're looking at the short but vibrant history of Lomography's iconic slide film.
The X-Pro Chrome was a hit among film photographers who loved experimentation and vivid colors on film without much color shift. It's a favorite by many Lomographers including gurus such as Lomography pioneer natalieerachel.
While slide films are typically developed with E6 chemicals, the X-Pro Chrome was designed to be cross-processed in C-41 (hence its name) in order to get intense saturated colors and of course, high quality and fine grain.
This made the film stock unique as a slide film and many took advantage of its fascinating and bright colors. The Lomography X-Pro Chrome came in two variants, the Lomography X-Pro Chrome 100 which was available in 35 mm and the Lomography X-Pro Chrome 200, available in 35 mm and medium format.
While the film stock is less accessible now after being discontinued a decade ago, we can still enjoy its results through our community members who have uploaded photos taken with the Lomography X-Pro Chrome.
