The station dog

This dog had quite a story. Looks young, yet she had a litter of puppies whom all died in unknown circumstances (I think some low-life killed them) and she was grieving them. She was painful in her teats because of milk buildup. I gave her some food and some belly rubs, and she kept me company at the station, where I would pet her and she would lean on me for warmth while waiting for the train. She was an amazing dog, maybe the friendliest stray I've ever met.

    Many people will not believe that. But dogs can really grieve. My daughter's first dog came to her because his owner died suddenly. Only months later could he be happy again. I hope the station dog will often meet friendly people.
